Over the years Palma Maritime was one of the pioneers in yacht management on Mallorca. Initially we started purely as a charter company, having a fleet of own yachts, which were all offered for charter. But over the years, with the ever increasing mooring fees, Palma Maritime received more and more request from private yacht owners, wishing to charter out their own yachts, to cover (a part of) the high costs of having a yacht on Mallorca. The yacht management concept of Palma Maritime was born. Palma Maritime offers the prospective yacht owners a fully comprehensive yacht management program, from advice in what model suits their needs, finding and purchasing the right yacht, to finding a mooring and servicing the yacht. Or bringing it into the charter management program, with all the licensing and coding involved. The yacht management program allows Palma Maritime to look after a yacht all year round, arranging the yearly maintenance, looking after it (or “keeping it alive” as we like to call it), getting repairs done and generally making sure owners can enjoy their yacht at any time they want to. The charter management program is more comprehensive, as besides the yacht management, it also includes chartering a yacht to create revenues to cover costs. A very important point though is that to us, quality is more important than quantity. We seek a balance between the amount of charters and keeping the yacht in a good condition. Therefore the company mainly attracts yacht owners who want to have a yacht on Mallorca, which they can enjoy from time to time, who don’t mind their yacht is being chartered to create some revenue, but who find it very important their yacht is always in good condition, thus keeping as much of it’s value as possible. The fact that the charters might not cover all their costs does not concern them. In fact Palma Maritime does not guarantee monthly revenues, nor will it guarantee a certain yearly return. But the company does guarantee your yacht will be kept in tip top condition.This philosophy results in happy owners and as important, satisfied charter customers. Palma Maritime prides itself in the fact that they have many, many charter customers returning year after year, mainly because they know they will get a yacht in tip top condition. Obviously the chartered yachts are fitted out to meet all the safety regulations and hold the required charter licences.
